Create and mangage packages

Funbutler is built around packages, learn how to handle them

Updated this week

1. Initial Setup

Open the menu in Funbutler and go to Packages.
Click the green + icon in the top right to create a new package.

On the new screen, enter the basic package details such as:

  • Name

  • Participant limits

  • General rules

After naming your package:

  • Go to the Timeslots tab.

  • Generate timeslots (common intervals: 15, 30, or 60 minutes).

  • Click Save.

The page will reload and additional configuration options will appear.

2. Add Activities

Once timeslots are saved, the Activities tab becomes available. Activities are the building blocks of your package.

In this tab:

  • Click the + button on the far right to add a new block (initially labeled Pause).

  • Click Pause to open the list of available activities.

    • If the list is empty, you need to add activities to the system first.

  • Select the activities you want and add them to your package timeline so the system knows what to book and when.

3. Make Your Package Visible

  • Go to the Booking Forms tab.

  • Select the booking form(s) where you want this package to appear.

    • Booking forms are what you embed on your website for customers to use.

4. Setting a Visible Booking Window

If you want a package to appear only a certain number of days before the booking date—or to hide it when less than a set number of days remain—you can adjust the booking window.
This is often used to simplify administration or limit last-minute bookings.

To configure this:

  • Go to the Timeslots tab.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the page.

  • Next to the Booking Window label, you’ll see a dropdown menu with three options.

Booking Window Options

  • Always available
The package is bookable whenever the venue is open and space is available.

  • Only available
Allows you to define a specific time range in which the package can be booked before the start time.

  • Not available
Lets you define a period during which the package cannot be booked before the start time—useful for creating a buffer or preventing last-minute bookings.

5. Allow Bookings That Pass Over Midnight

If your package needs to support bookings that continue past midnight, you must enable this setting.

To do this:

  • Go to the package’s Timeslots tab.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the page.

  • Check the box labeled Allow bookings over midnight.

Make sure your venue’s bookable hours are configured to allow bookings that extend past midnight.

6. Setting Payment Rules

If you use a connected payment provider, you can require payment for the package.

In the Payments tab:

  • Click Payment Required.

  • A new set of options appears:

    • Time interval – How long before or after the booking payment must be made.

    • Before/After – Whether the interval counts before or after the booking time.

If you are using simplified payment you can setup advanced payment options. (Simplified payments can be activated by contacting Funbutler)
